History
InfraGard is a nonprofit 501(c)3 North Dakota based organization that originated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), in 1996. The North Dakota Chapter of InfraGard currently serves 200+ members representing 100+ North Dakota companies covering 12 of the 16 Critical Infrastructures Sector of the United States.
There are currently 79 Infragard chapters, distributed among states and cities, and our engaged membership is made both effective and dynamic by the inclusion of deeply vetted individuals and respected private and public organizations. The acceptance process for this public-private partnership is comprehensive, broad and deep.
In 20+ years since it was formed, the initiative has grown to include the InfraGard National Members Alliance (INMA) with 77 chapters and more than 75,000 members across the U.S.
Mission
The North Dakota InfraGard mission is to lead the state effort to protect critical infrastructure and reduce risk by connecting the public and private infrastructure community with local, state, and Federal resources.
Vision
The vision of North Dakota InfraGard is to facilitate a secure and resilient infrastructure across the state of North Dakota through collaboration, information sharing, training, and relationship building across all infrastructure sectors.
Objectives
The goal of InfraGard is to promote ongoing dialogue and timely communication between members and the FBI. InfraGard members gain access to information that enables them to protect their assets and in turn give information to government that facilitates its responsibilities to prevent and address terrorism and other crimes.
The relationship supports information sharing at national and local levels and its objectives are as follows:
- Increase the level of information and reporting between InfraGard members and the FBI on matters related to counterterrorism, cybercrime and other major crime programs.
- Increase interaction and information sharing among InfraGard members and the FBI regarding threats to the critical infrastructures, vulnerabilities, and interdependencies.
- Provide members value-added threat advisories, alerts, and warnings.
- Promote effective liaison with local, state and federal agencies, to include the Department of Homeland Security.
- Provide members a forum for education and training on counterterrorism, counterintelligence cyber crime and other matters relevant to informed reporting of potential crimes and attacks on the nation and U.S. interests.
